Meet the vets who work in our surgeries and their assistants

Clive Bourne

Clive Bourne qualified as a vet from Bristol University in 1983. After spells in general practice in Bishop Auckland and Selby, North Yorkshire, he came to Llangollen in 1988 in partnership with Mr & Mrs Woodhall.

He treats all species of animal and has a particular interest in dermatology (see page 6). He has two dogs, four cats and four kids(!).

Becky Rowe

Vet Becky Rowe qualified from Liverpool Vet School and has worked in the practice on and off since 2006. She has a sheepdog Zara, several ponies, and regularly helps her father on his sheepfarm.

Becky’s fiance Clive Patel has recently joined the practice having gained experience as a vet in Cumbria, Cheshire and Shropshire.

Clive Patel

Clive brings a wealth of experience after working in Cumbria, Cheshire and Shropshire. When not at work he enjoys hill walking and mountain biking (and occasionally manages to drag Becky along with him!)

Jan Swetman

Jan Swetman is our most recent recruit. She has previous experience as a veterinary receptionist and is well known in Llangollen through her husband’s shop and her old collie Bryn.

Olga Edwards

Olga Edwards has celebrated twenty five years at the practice. Twenty six years or more ago she trained as a dog groomer and this has kept her busy ever since! She is also our office manager.

She owns 3 dogs, a cat and numerous birds and smaller pets.

Lynda Griffiths

Started at the practice even before Olga(!) but she did leave for a while before rejoining 15 years ago. She does general nursing and works both in Llangollen and Acrefair.

Lynda’s poodle Polly is perhaps the most popular member of staff at Dee Valley Vets.

Ann Jones

Ann Jones is our senior member of staff in Corwen, having joined us not long after we opened in 1993. She’s born and bred in the town and is well known there as an animal lover.

Nicky Cooper

Nicky has been working in veterinary practice for several years. She is studying at Reasheath College to become a qualified Veterinary nurse.

Siân Smith

Siân Smith is Ann’s daughter:- another animal lover with innumerable pets. She joined us in 2006 working at our Corwen branch.Sian has a whole menagerie of pets:- dogs, cats guinea pigs and more.

Kate Gray

‘Kate Gray has been front of house at St Martins since we opened. She has several working Spaniels and Labradors’

Debbie Tromans

Debbie Tromans now assists at St Martins in the afternoons which she fits in around looking after her Airedale.
